As grateful as I am for my years as a medical technologist in hospital laboratories, something seemed to be missing. Listening to my coworkers talk some of the challenges in their lives as well as seeing patient challenges within the medical system, I was always having ideas that could make things easier. Having spent my life being very analytical, this was a way to develop my creative side. What I found was that creating useful solutions that made life easier for people made my heart sing.
HD Merrimack’s focus has evolved and I have come back to my core knowledge in the medical field to develop Medication Management Tools and Emergency Medical Info Kits.
For over 30 years, I have heard many family and physician conversations about medications as well as where the paperwork authorizing a family member to make decisions was. Realizing that these were major issues, my focus became finding ways to make easy to understand and use, inexpensive, low tech solutions. I know these tools work because I had to test them on my own mother after open heart surgery.
Even though our main focus is developing the medical management tools, we still are selling our other products.
Originally, I developed Commemorative Bookmarks. When a friend passed away, I created some bookmarks for his family. The comments were so encouraging that I decided to see what I could do. Since then, Commemorative Bookmarks has developed into both Memorial and Celebration Bookmarks, remembering all of life's events.
One of my main passions is the environment. As a way to save time and paper, I developed Easy Minder Reusable Lists, a line of preprinted, write-on wipe-off checklists that organize and simplify routine tasks such as grocery shopping, medication taking, child and pet care.
